White Birch and Winterberries

After work this morning, I spent the rest of the day working on town bills and information for the monthly meeting tonight of the board.  There was a lot to discuss but at least one item can come off future agendas.  The board read a letter from the county health department stating that the house which had caused a rat infestation was now in compliance with their requirements.  The broken windows were replaced, the door locked, the loose material picked up, and traps set.  I looked at the chairman and asked who was going to tell the lady who had originally complained about rats invading her nearby property.  The chairman gave a big sigh and said he would stop by.  My guess is the lady would have preferred the eyesore of a house was torn down.  However, while our community has laws about a healthy living environment, it has no rules about what your house has to look like (and I prefer it that way.)
