Grasses
Library duty tonight. The first day I did library duty, one of the library board members took my picture. I didn't think too much of it until I noticed a frame w/ individual pictures of all of the volunteers. At the best of times I'm not that photogenic but this picture was truly awful. Tonight I arrived at the library about 1/2 hour early - figured every so often the librarian would like to be able to leave early. I waited until she was out the door and then took down the volunteer picture frame. I searched through the free brochures on display and found a picture of Patty Duke on the front of a pamphlet on how to sign up for social security on-line. Her face was about the right size and correct lighting. I cut around it and replaced my picture w/ hers. Then I put the frame back up on the wall. No one looks too closely at the pictures up on the wall and I bet the change won't be noticed until they put up a picture of a new volunteer (if then). In the meantime, the picture w/ the name "Susan Mayer" below it shows a lovely, refined, confident lady whom people will think that they've seen somewhere before... and I have a little inside joke.
