The leaves of this plant can be dried and used for seasoning though it is milder than it's more pungent cousin commercial basil. It's in the mint family as many other plants around here - henbit, wild bergamot, catnip, and Heal-all. There are 3,200 species in the mint family worldwide including many oregano, marjoram, thyme, sage, and lavender. A very useful family of plants.
