Indy and I were on a mission today. Figured it was about time for the orchids in the sphagnum moss swamp to be blooming so we headed out that way. That particular swamp is a fetid, tick infested, mosquito breeding ground. However, some of the most beautiful things grow there. Found the pink Lady's Slipper's in bloom. Success! Next we went in search of Bent Trilliums. Fortunately, they grow in a part of the swamp w/ a trail. Didn't find them this year but did find an American Copper butterfly and Solomon's Seal in bloom though. You win some, you lose some. The real fun is in the hunt.
