Black & Yellow Garden Spider

A picture from my neighbor, Doug Dearhamer.

The Sunday service was disappointing today. Not the usual way I feel coming out of church. Decided to take a walk - even if it was raining. Indy bounced ahead of me, tail wagging, ready for a new adventure. It's just impossible to remain uptight when you are out on a walk w/ a dog. After 1/2 hour, life had brightened up, even if I was pretty drenched. Indy's asleep and I'm in dry clothes now. Think I'll snuggle into a stuffed chair and do the crossword.

That thing scared the crap out of me when I went down to grab a bunch of Timothy we were cutting for my daughters project for Rusk County Fair exhibits. Their were dozens of them we encountered.
It was so weird when I was watching them, they got the web just flopping back and forth and found out it was how they catch their insects to eat. Made it easier for them to get caught in the web.
