Virgin's Bower (Clematis virginiana)

Had lunch w/ a friend. Always a good time when you can sit and catch up on each other's lives. She and her husband have had great luck this year w/ their garden. A pumpkin vine trailed up a fence and large orange pumpkins were hanging from it. She had put one pumpkin next to the front door - it had just grown too heavy for the vine and fallen off. A watermelon patch on the front lawn had three melons that were growing rapidly. Last time I had visited, I left w/ some fresh cut herbs. This time it was three tomatoes. Should have checked to see if gardener's thumbs are truly green.
