New England Aster (Aster novae-angliae)

Found 2 ticks on me after the walk today so the two months w/o them has been nice but guess their hiatus is over until it frosts. The heat streak is over, at least temporarily, now also. Wore a long-sleeved pullover around the house today. Some of the early ferns have turned brown and dried up. Saw flocks of birds just flying from one place to another - think they are giving this year's brood flight practice while gathering for the migration. It's completely dark now when I leave for work and I can see Orion (the constellation, not the cat) flinging his leg over the horizon. Haven't wanted to notice but guess summer is coming to an end. Not a problem - I really like fall.
