Made the mistake of telling Aunt Ruth that I thought of her today when I burnt the hummingbird's sugar water. Told her Mom had once said that when Ruth got married she couldn't boil water. From the look on Aunt Ruth's face, I surmised that Mom hadn't ever told that story in Ruth's presence. I hurriedly explained that Mom was just trying to say that Ruth had worked at it, become an accomplished cook, and so could I. Not sure that completely assuaged her feelings. Hope I still get those loaves of chocolate zucchini bread Aunt Ruth makes.

don't worry, zucchini is so prolific that most people would be willing to overlook a minor infraction to get rid of it.
