The town hall was broken into this week. Well, that might be too strong a word - the back door lock is only strong enough to keep the door from flying open in the wind. It had been wrenched open and all of the files in the cabinets were rifled through. But there is nothing of value kept in the building. I keep current (that means anything from 1990's to the present day) paperwork here at my office. No money, no checks, no voting machines, no TV, no telephone, no computer, no copper tubing (in fact, the building doesn't have any running water and the bathroom is an outdoor biffy). So as far as we can tell, whoever broke in didn't take anything and, in my personal opinion, the place might even look a little better than it did before.
