The first grade class where my brother, Phil, volunteers read a story about a flying squirrel named "Scaredy". At the end of the story, Scaredy runs off so the teacher sent out e-mails to people asking if they had seen him. She sent along a picture of Scaredy so we knew what he looked like. As the class gets e-mails & pictures of Scaredy returned to them, they put pins in a large map to track his travels (and learn geography at the same time). Sure enough, Scaredy showed up at the dairy in the calf barn. I sent a picture of another calf to the class but liked this one of Spencer in her personal calf hut. (Scaredy is looking at her from the top of the door.)
