Coyotes

Just before sunrise I saw a coyote digging in the field. "Good", I thought, "maybe he's trying to catch a gopher or woodchuck". When a second coyote joined the first one, I realized they were making a den. While it would be great for photo ops, two coyotes protecting pups this close to the house would be dangerous for Indy. So I put her on a leash and we went out to visit the site. The coyotes trotted off and Indy nosed around the hole. Finally she obligingly urinated and defecated in the area. It means, in canine language, "Take that!"
