Russell, Donna, and walking companions

Eric, the dairy owner, was reading The Black Swan and it sounded interesting so he lent it to me after he finished. It's about how business handles the problem of something happening which (1) lies outside the realm of expectation, (2) has an extreme impact, and (3) in retrospect was predictable. The demise of the Soviet bloc, the success of Google, the 9/11 attacks are all examples. It's not a bad read, or wouldn't be if, when I sit down, I could just stay awake long enough to finish a chapter. But then, that's why they make bookmarks.
