Rabbit

I am sometimes surprised when I look out onto the deck to see the tips of ears coming up from the edge, followed by a set of eyes, and then a nose. In this case, it was a rabbit. My deck is built low to the ground and the builder suggested putting something around it to keep the "varmints" out. But I thought if I left it open, nature would take care of keeping everything in balance. So far that has been the case. I enjoy watching the various creatures who call it home. (Plus, I guess, they enjoy watching me!)
