Nodding Trillium

Yesterday afternoon Indy, Ori, and I walked out onto the deck together. Ori disappeared under the deck for a little hunting. Indy found a soft spot on the grass, made sure her nose was pointing into the wind, and took up her watching pose (eventually morphing into her napping pose). I brought out the plants I'd picked up at a nursery. Put all of the herbs I bought into clay pots first. The herbs go next to my front door and I picked out a particularly odorous group this time - rosemary, dill, chives, lavender, chocolate mint, pineapple mint, and three kinds of thyme (because when you retire turns out you are always short of the stuff). Then I tackled the geraniums I'd overwintered from last year. I use them as guinea pigs for new ideas and my plan this year was long planters up against the house. It took a trowel to cut them apart and refit them in the new planters. I finished about the time Ori hopped back up on the deck and Indy woke up. We all went back into the house - including my newly potted plants. Freeze warnings every night until Wednesday.

Short on thyme. That's a good one. Will you be putting anything in the garden this year?
