Letting go is hard to do

Volunteered at the library again tonight. The librarian was glad for the chance to leave early. While the afternoon had been pleasant enough, tonight the forecast was for lots of cold rain. A family came in to use the copier machine. While the mother was busy doing that, one of the daughters asked when the library book sale would be. I had to tell her it was last weekend. However ... all of the leftover books were on tables at the back of the library and the librarian said they were free to anyone who wanted them. Soon I could hear the whole family in back sorting though books. The mother left w/ 2 box fulls and each child left carrying as many books as they could possibly hold. That's the good news. The bad news is the forecast was correct and a rare November thunderstorm is raging outside.

I do appreciate the rain when I consider how much snow this would be were it just a little bit colder. That too will be here soon enough.
