Sunrise over a cloud bank
Both of the dairy owners let us know today that the parlor looked great when they brought the tour groups through. Domingo and I had grabbed buckets after the end of milking yesterday and quickly scrubbed everything so well you could have eaten off the floor (OK, that's a bit of an exaggeration). There were two groups: high school students from an Ag class and tech students in a pre-vet course. Carol and Eric said the students had lots of questions which is a sign of a good tour. Carol commented most of the students had no farm experience at all. I was surprised but Carol reminded me that it's no longer the same world that she and I grew up in. Farming has become a highly technical occupation filled w/ specialists. As Carol often says, "It's what it takes to feed the world."
