Hemlock seeds
I put things on the white board each day that must be accomplished. Yesterday one of them was to mow the paths. I got to the new bridge between the front 40 and the back 40 and stopped. Got out and walked on it. The top of the bridge is solid but the edge leading up to that and leading away still seem soft to me. Decided I'd wait until I had a chance to run Jormungandr over it a couple of times. If that doesn't sink in Svaldilfari won't either. Since it takes a while to cut paths and you can't go too fast, I had time to think. That bridge should have a name instead of just "new bridge". The only bridge I could find in Norse mythology is Bifrost: a burning rainbow bridge reaching between Midgard (Earth) and Asgard (home of the gods). Probably will call it that. Another thing on the list was washing the sheets on my bed which I do every Saturday. It was a beautiful day so hung them out on the line to dry in the breeze & sun. Should have brought them in after they dried instead of waiting until 7 p.m. Turned out that was too close to sundown and tiny little flying bugs had congregated all over them. (Google AI claimed bugs eschew the color white.) I'm not sure what this kind of fly is but it left little marks on the sheets. Washed them a second time in one day and used the clothes dryer this time. The subject of flies remind me that they are still coming into Mjolnir but not to the same amount as last year. To date I have had 99. Found a blog entry from exactly one year ago and I'd already hit 1,000. The difference is I taped shut the front door and put a plug-in dispenser of eucalyptus and spearmint scent. I used the scent in the garage last winter to keep mice out and it worked. Google AI says flies don't like it either. (Yeah, just like insects don't like white.)
