Maximillian Sunflowers with spring snow

Unfortunately my list of things-to-do before breakfast has grown so long instead I'm having a daily brunch.   After I'd fed the birds, washed my sheets and wrangled them out on the clothesline (still cold enough that they need all day to dry completely). I needed to get downtown to pick up my mail and a book at the library.  The library is open for a limited time on Saturdays and the Mahabarata was overdue plus a book I had on hold came in.  The post office window is also open for a short time Saturday mornings.   When I checked on-line at least one of my packages might be there.  Tracking actually said it was delivered to the post office but gave it's status as "running late".  The other package USPS had claimed would be delivered today only made it as far as Collegetown before being diverted to Florida. (Hopefully it will find it's way back.)   The package that was at the  post office contained a new TV remote.  As you know I rarely buy TV's since I have a nice array of siblings and cousins who readily give me their hand-me-downs.   I don't really care if I can see the pores on a newscasters nose so as long as it has a picture, color, and volume I'm pretty satisfied.    However, it's not new and eventually stuff wears out.   Last month I started losing remote functions -one by one- of the TV in the living room.  When the 'input' button stopped working I was stuck using the Roku remote which allowed me at least to change channels within that streaming system but no longer switch to local programming.  Finally the regular remote wouldn't even turn on the TV.  I had resorted to (gasp) physically getting up to turn the TV on/off or adjust volume using buttons on the TV set itself.  The replacement remote worked as advertised.   I took it out of it's plastic wrap, put in two batteries, pointed it toward the TV, and 'click' it came on.
