Barn Quilt
Sitting around all day at the election took more out of me than I expected. It wasn't until noon the next day when I was alert enough to put myself together and drive back to the town hall. I'd insisted after the election to leave the room set up as it was and I'd reset it the next day for board meetings. The town clerk and poll workers protested but by then everyone was so fried it didn't take much to convince them to leave things as they were and go home. The clerk did remind me that this weekend the town hall was booked for a baby shower. When I arrived I took down the voting booths and stored them in the safe room. Shoved the tables together and put chairs around the perimeter. I moved items around in the storage room so if the people at the baby shower wanted more tables or chairs they didn't have to climb over things to get them out. Picked up the pens we'd left here and there and put them in w/ the voting materials. Only took about a half hour. Still so tired once I got home that I put an alarm on my phone to ensure I woke up for a planned Zoom meeting. Today I'm back to normal. Had errands to do - first stop was Mechanic Eric. He didn't have filters for the car when he'd changed the oil and instead of waiting for the next oil change (and forgetting to get them again) he'd said to drop down sometime this week. I thought I'd be setting up a time for him to work on the car but he insisted on popping both of them in (took all of five minutes). I explained I didn't have any checks on me but he said to just drop by tomorrow. Tonight I volunteered at the library. Librarian Colby wanted to use some shelves at the entrance for monthly promotions but the Friends of the Library had their crafts displayed there. She didn't want to move them and possibly tick off the Friends. I reminded her she was leaving soon so there couldn't really be any ramifications to her but she still waffled. So I moved things around and cleared an area for the monthly reading promotions. I told her if anyone balked that she was to say "The volunteers moved things." She didn't want to but after I drilled it into her a couple of times and because she had a cold and headache, she kinda acquiesced. The way I see it, in the library, the Librarian makes the decisions.
