Watercolor Sunrise

A bit colder - enough that I figured it was now 'chili weather' and made a crockpot.  Forgot it should simmer for six to eight hours and I was getting hungry after only four.  Best to keep busy.  Washed my sheets and hung them outside to dry.  Peeled that latest grouping of 200 flies off Mjolnir's window - since the end of August the count is at 3,200.  I'm running out of whiteboard where I keep track (I knew I had a fly problem out there but this feels like Biblical Plague stuff).  Filled the big garbage bin in Sleipnir with water so I can water the plants there throughout the winter w/o carrying buckets of water over snowdrifts from Mjolnir.  Played some Words With Friends (today is the one year anniversary of Sister Connie and I playing at least once every day).  Looked through the books on my bookshelf and picked out two more I could put in my donation bag.  Sometimes they stay in the bag and sometimes I pick them back out to put up on my shelf for a little longer.  Finally decided the aroma of chili was too strong to resist any longer.  I tweaked my usual recipe this time and got a more mellow taste by substituting tomato paste for one can of diced tomatoes.  Even Whip thought it was better.
