Part of the Library's Pumpkin Display

What TV channel has the best shows for Halloween?  After the nightly constitutional, I turned off the lights, snuggled up w/ Whip's head on my lap, and turned on PBS.   First up was Nature -  a special on Transylvania's wildlife: Romania's brown bear to wolves (Whip woke up for that part) to bats.  It was great (and no political ads!).   Nova was the next program showing Wandering Worlds - part of their Solar System series.   A journey through the darkest, coldest, most distant places barely within our sun's gravitational pull: Planetoids orbiting in the Keiper Belt beyond Pluto, Icy fragments in the Oort Cloud in a sphere beyond that.  Spine chilling stuff!  Finally, a Secrets of the Dead episode:  Field of Vampires.  The spooky story of unearthing graves in Poland where the corpses were buried w/ scythes across their necks and padlocks on their toes.  The forensic work was interesting but so was the search of archives trying to find out why this happened.    I sat back on the couch.  Probably it was the same kind of mass idiocy as The Salem Witch Trials, The Cat Nuns of France, The Great Clown Panic of 2016, etc.  Where is Occam's Razor when you need it?
