It surprises me that the longer people are married, the less they celebrate Valentine's Day. Sure it's kind of a made up holiday. The Roman Catholic Church wanted an alternate 'more Christian' festival to coincide w/ the pagan celebration of Lupercalia (when male and female celebrants were paired off by a lottery system). However, w/ a little imagination, it's easy to do something out of the ordinary today to make another's day happier. The rabbits holed up under the deck for the winter got some tomato and strawberry scraps for breakfast. The cats got a can of cat food along w/ their kibble. I cut a colorful bouquet of geranium blooms to sit on the table. Whip and I went out on a walk just as forecasted snowflakes began to fall. I'm happy.
