It's Snowing Again

Picked up Neighbor Anita before taking off for Christmas in the Village.  First we stopped at the Fire Station.  The volunteers had moved all of their vehicles out to the edge of their parking lot in case they got a call.   The now vacant Firehouse interior was filled with local vendors.  Anita and I went our different ways shopping.  I finished first, bought a box of assorted handmade candies, and let Anita know I'd wait out in the car for her.  (She knows and is known by a lot more people than I am.)  I sat in the car listening to my audio book and munched on a truly delicious chocolate covered raspberry.  When she was done we drove over to the library.  Santa and Mrs. Claus were holding court and there was the buzz of little kids.  We bought raffle tickets and distributed them among the various baskets.  The Village has a free lunch set up in their council room - soups, sandwiches, and Christmas cookies.  However, Anita and I have our own tradition so after the library we drove to the Toad House to eat.  The special was a popover sandwich w/ spinich, tomatoes, ham, and cheese.  (It was so good I may have to rethink not liking ham.)  Coffee and cheesecake finished off the meal.  Once I was back home, I sat on the couch to watch a TV show and have another chocolate (or two).  Whip jumped up on the couch and laid down w/ her front legs over my lap.  As the movie progressed, she eventually had her head on my lap, then her upper body.  I thought her devotion to me was kinda sweet until I realized her ultimate goal was the box of candies on the end table next to me.   Little bugger.
