Fog over the Meadow
Checked the phone's on-line weather app before I even was out of bed yesterday morning. Beautiful day again. However, it forecasted out as far as August 21st when it said the high would be 106 degrees. That woke me up fast. Not sure it's ever been that warm here. However, throughout the day that forecast has been changing. Latest has a high of 93. Since it rained twice in the last two days, the lawn actually looks like it's growing. Just a light breeze. A good day to burn financial records from 2012 in Ragnarok. I also made a hobo dinner and put that on the grill over the fire. The dinner takes at least 45 minutes and I thought I'd get bored sitting out there but it takes longer than I thought to crumple up paper, throw it in the fire, plus keep the fire going. Finished just before the dinner should be done. Used a poker to move around the ashes in pursuit of unburnt bits of paper. Felt raindrops. Of course. I was doing an outside activity and that is just what storm clouds are looking for. Not bad timing though. The paper was burned, the food was done, plus I had planned on eating inside anyway. Flooded the burnpit w/ a bucket of water (in case, the rain didn't continue) and brought the dinner inside. Delicious. While I ate I considered forecasts. There hadn't been anything about the little rainstorm even while it was happening so the app wasn't infallable. Maybe it's also wrong about the level of heat coming.
