Sand Hill Cranes dancing

Hadn't meant to go to the town meeting tonight but Planning Committee Chairman Roger texted to the group this morning that he would be out of town and could some of us go to the meeting tonight?  One of the agenda items was for the board to formally accept the new Comprehensive Plan and there should be someone from the group present to answer any questions.   Closed up the library 5 minutes early and drove over to the town hall just as everyone was standing for the Pledge of Allegience.  When I say 'everyone' it was Steve & Dennis (the board members), Chris & Michelle (clerk and treasurer), and one guy I didn't know.  He spoke up during the Public Comment section asking if the town planned on resurveying monuments.  Monuments refers to land survey markers.  He and his neighbor have issues on where the fence line between them is.  He looked into getting a survey but the nearest markers are so distant that the cost of a professional survey is prohibitive.  Steve said he'd talk to the county and see if there were grants available for our town to do it.  After that it was pretty much the same old stuff until it came to the Comprehensive Plan.  The board asked what we had changed and I gave them the highlights.  Dennis hadn't read it.  I lied and told him he should because it was a fascinating document.  Steve rolled his eyes.  The board accepted it.  I should be able to get off the Planning Committee in a couple of months -  just need to delete the old document, update the new one, and get it sent off to the state.
