I think all of my siblings helped our grandparents put out flowers on Memorial Day. Grandma would cut flowers from her garden the night before and keep them cool in the well house in buckets of water. The next morning she would arrange them in pots and Grandpa would take one of us out to the cemetery with him and place the flowers on the graves. He would pick them up after Memorial Day. They are good memories so I continue to do it. I'm no gardener but I can plant pots of flowers to put out and then bring them back to my place after the holiday is over. Got up early this morning, loaded the flowers in the back of the car and drove to the graveyard at the edge of the village. Lots of garish detritis around. I don't consider plastic flowers respectful plus I fear dealing w/ my Grandmother's phantasm should I not use the real deal. I set out the flowers and with a clear concience drove home to make breakfast.

Thanks for doing that every year Sue. They really look nice. Wish I could have been there to help. Last year was fun when we did it.

The Flowers arrangements are always beautiful but are exceptional this year! Thank you for honorinng our family members. Grandma always put flowers on a grave of a non family member and I can't remember the name? We always had to look for the headstone.
