Cottontail Rabbit

Went in for my usual library volunteer duty tonight.  Three women walked in just as I was beginning my shift.  The first two asked if we had bathrooms and I directed them through the doors into the Village Hall and down a short corridor.  They left.  The third came to the desk and said they were looking for their grandfather's grave but couldn't find the cemetery.  She thought they had found the church but the access road hadn't been plowed so no way to get to it.  It's an old church in the town of Murry just north of me.   The church hasn't been used in a long time and I didn't know who might be keeping up the gravesites but figured the clerk for the town would know.  Wrote down the number and e-mail address for the clerk and gave it to the lady.  She then said her family had farmed in the area near Exeland and she was wondering if anyone would know where the old farm was.  Took the piece of paper back and wrote the number for the local Historical Society and the name of their chairman.   They would have ideas about how to find out that sort of info.  The other two ladies had returned by now.  Three sisters on a road trip looking for their roots.  However, they couldn't stay long since their hotel reservations were in Green Bay.   That's a four hour drive away!    Either they hadn't looked at a map before planning out their trip -or- Green Bay was the nearest city w/ a name they recognized.  Next time they come back, they said, it will be summer and they will find closer accomodations.

If they ask, you could refer them to "The Orchard Shed".
