Winter Haze Sunrise
A gorgeous day in the Northwoods. Whip spent the afternoon laying on a window seat keeping watch. A pesky gray squirrel made multiple forays from the forest crossing the open meadow to raid the bird feeders. Whip was able to stymie all of the squirrel's attempts today. Whip would start barking when she saw the varmint bounding across the snow and I'd let her out the back door. That was enough to get the squirrel to 'turn tail' and race back to the safety of the woods. For my activity, I made a Quiche Lorraine. Had watched a Mary Berry 'Special Things' broadcast this week where she made picnic tarts. Recognized the recipe as the same one Sister-In-Law Sheila had given me for quiche - just in a different size. As usual I messed a little w/ the recipe - this time adding a little less bacon and a little less salt. Turned out to be one of the best ever.
