A few more tasks to do before the election next week. I went back to the Zoning Office at the County Court House and picked up a large map of our town w/ the new wards marked on it. They also gave us two smaller 8x11 sized maps. I drove over to the town hall. It had been raining/snowing/icing all day and despite everything, I dropped the map in the slush. A couple of sections on the western side of the town have watermarks on them now. I'll see about getting another laminated copy after the election. Hung the large map on our bulletin board. Put one of the small maps over by the new-registrations desk, and one in on the clerk's desk. The poll books already denote which ward a voter resides in. The small map at the new-registrations desk will be used to figure out the ward of a first time voter and the large map will be used in an attempt to explain when people get excited that they aren't getting the same ballot as their neighbor. Before the Public Test I'd set up the room the way we had it for elections ever since the pandemic started. Chief Inspector Barb had suggested a different setup which she thought would be easier for people to navigate. I'm all for adding some feng shui to the voting process so spent time today rearranging tables and voting cubicles. Will be interesting to see if people appeciate the 'flow' of this arrangement.
