Winter Naif

Libraries try to have programs for all age groups.  We have Storytime every Friday for pre-schoolers (they can zoom in or come to the library)..  We used to have Lego Club for the school kids up to age 12.  We'll reinstate it once the library board gives the OK.  During the summer we also have Summer Reading for that same group.  For adults we used to have Coffee and Conversation (another one we are waiting for the library board's OK) and Book Club still meets once a month.  From time to time the library hosted 'Meet the Author' programs for local writers.  The librarian was searching for a program for teenagers.  A Dungeon and Dragons group would use the library before Covid but I haven't seen them since we reopened.   The librarian advertised a Teen Valentine card and Pizza party for tonight at the library.  She figured if you want to attract teens you need to have pizza.  Whether it was the snowstorm that started in the late afternoon, the other activities already planned at school, or just disinterest - no teens showed up.  However, some adults did so Patti went ahead w/ her card class and they made pop-up Valentine's cards and ate the pizza themselves.  The librarian will have to think of something else to catch the interest of the teen group.
