Winter Naif
Got the message in the afternoon that my phone was at 20% charge. So I picked up the power cord and plugged it into the outlet near the kitchen counter. Half an hour later I saw that the power level was still below 20%. I plugged the phone into various other outlets, checked connections were snug, and still nothing. (This never happened w/ my old flip phone.) E-mailed a techy friend from Honeywell days to see if she'd ever experienced this. "No," she responded, "Have you checked the Internet?" Duh! The 21st century go-to for every question and problem and it hadn't occurred to me to google. Of course other people had this problem. An on-line site suggested turning the phone off, back on, and replugging it in. The old 'Reboot Option'! Should have thought of that too. Didn't work either. Turned the phone off and went to bed. Would have to drive to Verizon (where I'd bought the phone) in the a.m. This morning, Whip and I went out for our morning constitutional. While she nosed around deer droppings, I thought through what I'd do this morning. It occurred to me that there were two pieces to the phone's power cord: the electrical cord and the converter which allows it to plug into a home's standard 15-amp outlets. Back in the house I popped off the converter and plugged the power cord directly into a USB port on a power strip in my study. Success! Phone started recharging immediately. Am a little concerned about my reasoning skills. I've been reading more non-fiction books lately. Probably I should throw in a few cozy murder mysteries to keep the brain juices simmering.

This happened to my iPhone 6 plus. I ended up having to take it in to Batteries Plus to get a new battery. I have never had to do this with any of my other phones ever.
