Turkey

We are having a short cold spell these last few days.  I've even been putting Whip's coat on her before we go out for the morning constitutional.  She starts out eagerly enough but by the time we are on the way home and she's off the leash it's a different story.  When it's warm she trots on ahead of me so she can take her time to check out smells along the way and still make it to the front door before me.  In the cold weather she slowly limps just ahead of me lifting her paws like they were freezing.  This morning though on the way out she noticed deer across the road in the field.  Fortunately she was still on the leash but she practically jerked me off my feet as she took off.  Suddenly, the cold didn't matter.  On the way home I again let her off the leash and she trotted back home happily - no limping.  You see if you let a problem take over your thinking, such as how cold it is, you feel cold.  Think about something else, like deer, and you won't feel cold.  Well ... at least for awhile.
