Pine Tree

Dunder caught a hummingbird.  A tricky thing to do even if it wasn't winter in the Northwoods.   He also brought down a pine tree.   The hummer was ceramic and in two parts which are held together w/ magnets.  Put one half on one side of a glass pane and the other half opposite and it looks like the little bird is flying through it.  I had attached the bird high on the hutch's glass front panel where it's been for years.  Dunder had eyed it a number of times.  He'd stretched full length up the glass to see if he could reach it but he was half-a-cat too short.   One night I had just let Whip into the kitchen from the foyer.  I heard something hit the floor behind me and there was the little Christmas tree decoration I had attached by magnet to the top corner of the door frame. I looked up to where it had come from.  Dunder was crouched atop the kitchen cabinets peering down at me.   He'd jumped to the counter, to the top of the refrigerator, and to the top of the cupboards.   If he sits at the far edge of the cupboard he can reach out and just manage to swipe off whatever decoration I've put on the door jamb.   I set the tree decoration on the table nearby.  No use putting it back up, he'd just knock it down again.  I would need to wait until Dunder came to ground.  In the meantime, Whip was chewing away on something which wasn't his chew toy.  I told her to bring it to me and she dutifully dropped half of the ceramic hummingbird in my hand.   While I didn't see Dunder knock it off,  I've no doubt it was him.  He's a cat with a strong sense of mischievousness - or an aversion to magnets.
