GNO Christmas

I was sceptical that we would have a Girls Night Out Christmas celebration this year but we managed it.  Kathy, Nancy, and I met in the Big City on Tuesday.  We went out to eat at the Mason Jar again and then went back to the hotel to open gifts.  The hotel is the same one I stayed at earlier in the year and it still wasn't very busy.  The staff happily said we could open gifts in an area set aside as a breakfast eating, area.  The theme for 2020 was Semordelap - a real word which was created from spelling 'Palendromes' backward.  It's used to describe a word that, when spelled backward, makes a different word.  The usual example is 'god' and 'dog'.  Each of us had to pick a semordelap and give a gift which represented both words.  As you can see from the picture, I received SMART TRAMS from Kathy.  This winter I will assemble the tram system which uses soda cans and put together the jigsaw puzzle that Kathy created using her own artistry.  Before that though I'm sure I'll use the pink brain mold she gave me.  I could use it twice as a jello mold and put the two hemispheres together.  That would make a very interesting side dish for Thanksgiving!  Kathy received a scarf and tote bag for BRO ORB (the tote bag included the word 'bro' inprinted on it and the scarf could be used to clean glasses)  and I gave Nancy DEES of SEED (1000 seeds more or less in the form of  coffee beans, almonds, peppercorns, pecans, pumpkin, wild flower seeds, etc.).  Was a fun topic ... as will be next year's topic "Law of Physics".

P.S. The small turtles in the picture were part of Kathy's decoration on the package but I'm looking forward to playing w/ them in the bath.
