Elk

A picture from cousin Paul Mayer taken from his front lawn this morning.

My Visa card is through AARP and they are switching from Chase Bank to Barclays.  I received a copious amount of notifications that as of the 20th of this month, the old credit card would no longer work and reminders that any automatic payments need to be changed over to the new card which was on its way (and let them know if I didn't receive it).  I am already developing that old-person's maladay of letting things that need to get done become worrisome.  So when Labor Day had come and gone and I still hadn't seen any new credit card in the mail, I called the number on the back of my existing card.   The operator said he couldn't help me but did have a number for Barclays Bank and they could tell me if it had been sent yet or not.  Great.  I called Barclays.  They said my info wasn't in their system anywhere.  I explained I only wanted to know if the new card had been sent.  "Oh" said the operator, "your part of the changeover from Chase."  You want to call this number.  So I called that number.  Nope, They couldn't help me if I didnt have a 10 digit conversion number in a letter they sent me.  (None of the letters I had saved had said anything about a 10 digit conversion number).  I was pretty sure I would get a new card eventually.  What credit card company would let a customer slip through their hands?  Wasn't too impressed w/ Barclays  banking system though. So I got on-line and ordered a different credit card from a different place.  Having two cards might be adventageous.  Of course you can guess the end of my story ... got the Visa card in the mail today.
