I put together some cat furniture today. It came in a large box and 'some assembly required'. Included was a one page picture of which piece goes where, a hex key, and a handful of screws. Even I could do this. The cats got comfortable nearby to watch. Before long I had the five tiers, two enclosures, two cushions, two puff balls, one rope, and one hammock securily locked together and ready for the cats to play on. I put it in a corner of the livingroom and waited. Blitz and Dunder gave it a tentative sniff and walked off. I went over to my neighbor Anita's to complain about my unappreciative pets. Anita laughed, "Cats don't realize the furniture is for them." She had a point. While Whip had immediately recognized that the dog bed I brought home was hers, enthusiastically jumped into it, spread out across it, and let her tounge loll over the side; Blitz and Dunder were more enamored w/ the box the cat furniture had arrived in. I think w/ cats it might be location, location, location. I'd placed the cat furniture in a corner of the living room where it was out of the way. I moved the piece to the middle of the room where the afternoon sun hit. Later I found Dunder asleep in one of the cushions. While I worked on the computer tonight, I moved it to the end of the desk. Blitz is hanging over the edge of a landing where she can watch me. I'll move it around a bit more until I find a perfect spot for Blitz, Dunder, and me.

Looks like fun for the cats. Does it have a scratching post too?
