The locals

No explosions tonight so the locals came out at sunset to see if anything had changed.  Whip had seated herself atop one of the stuffed chairs by the window watching the meadow.  She started a deep throated growl.  I looked out and saw movement out by the salt lick.  Probably a deer.  Got out my binoculars to see if the deer had a fawn.  There were two deer there but what caught my attention was a bear walking through the tall grass toward them.  It didn't look very big and when it stood up I could see it was probably last year's cub.  One deer was taking no chances and took off down the trail for the forest.  The larger deer watched the bear for awhile before going back to her dinner of grass.  I'm sure they will all check out the 'crop circle' sometime during the night.  Next year,  I'll put a trail cam out there.
