Tag Alder leaf
When Mike the builder and I were talking back at the beginning of March, he asked if I wanted the same kind of garage door on Sleipnir as I have on Mjolnir. (Of course, he calls them 'the new garage' and 'the workshop'.) I replied yes. He said he would order it through Flambeau Door as he did last time. I said if he was, I'd like to change out Haven's garage door to match the other two (and because I wanted a better insulated door that lets light in). He said he'd tell them and they would probably send someone out to measure the door. I got a call from Flambeau Door this afternoon. They had somehow mislaid Mike's order and nothing had been done. Could they send someone out today to measure the door ... and ... they would like to use a different vendor for the door which meant it wouldn't be exactly the same as the one on Mjolnir? I replied, "Yes", they could send someone and "E-mail me pictures" to see what the new door style would look like. An employee arrived soon afterward to measure. Later in the afternoon, I had an e-mail from Flambeau Door. The other door vendor did not have anything similar to the door on Mjolnir so Flambeau Door would order the same door as Mjolnir through the same vendor. Problem is the vendor said doors wouldn't arrive until August. OK w/ me but I started fretting. What if the new door for Sleipnir didn't arrive before autumn's freezing temps? Decided to text Mike the builder in the morning to discuss options. Tonight though I got another e-mail from Flambeau Door. They had already discussed contingencies w/ Mike and agreed to put in a temp door if the ordered one didn't arrive in time. Mistakes will happen - it's how you handle them that counts.
