Red-winged Blackbirds

The non-partisan election went well.  After the initial problems w/ the tabulator's cartridges, the rest of the election went smoothly.  The weather during the day was beautiful.  Voters coming in were in a happy mood.   There were multiple discussions about people's health,  the future of Adams road, when we thought road bans would go off,   A couple of years ago a Waste Management truck had gone onto Adams road flaunting prevailing road bans and broke through the asphalt.  Adams road wasn't in the best of shape even before that happened.  The town board decided to grind it up and the people living there are wondering if/when it will ever be repaved.  The board also allowed the two garbage companies servicing the area - Waste Management and Republic - to place large garbage bins at the town hall for the duration of the road bans.  Since the heavy garbage trucks can's drive our roads until the bans go off, people can take their garbage to a central place for pickup.  Unfortunately people took advantage of the situation.    Last year, besides the regular garbage which the companies picked up, the only non-garbage items left were a TV and a microwave.  This year the bins are overflowing w/ garbage plus next to the bins people have left  a rolled up room-sized carpet, a snowblower, an outside grill, a door, a moped, construction materials, etc.  One supervisor happened to be at the town hall when a car came in w/ a trailer full of furniture to dump.   He told them no way could they dump that stuff here.  When he came in to vote his first words were "People are pigs."
