Sunrise - February 7

The librarian contacted me and said the board was OK to open up the library for the night shift (5 p.m. - 7 p.m.).  Would I man the desk on Tuesdays?  That shift used to be on Wednesday nights.  Since the pandemic the library had been open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings and Tuesday, Thursday afternoons - I think.  Seemed I was always trying to get a book and finding the door locked.  I balked at messing around w/ the public again by changing the day for the night shift.  Then I thought about it.  In truth,  I was rather liking this new non-contact way of life.  I saw the people I wanted to see but had a built-in excuse to not attend functions or talk w/ people.  Life had become very laid back and that probably wasn't good for me long term.  I could see a future where I resembled a mountain-man surrounded by cats.  (Shudder)  So I let the librarian know I would work Tuesdays.  However, I mentioned that I couldn't when I was a poll worker and also gave her some other Tuesday dates I had already made committments for.  She suggested changing it to Thursday nights.  So tonight I went in to work at the library.  Nobody came.  Guess library duty won't be all that bad.
