I was lamenting that the only birds I'd seen this winter were a group of goldfinches and some crows. I should have looked closer. Noticed today that there were quite a few red polls mixed in w/ the goldfinches. They all act like one flock - roosting together, flying in together, flying off together, eating together. Might be that winter, when there are fewer birds around, makes for strange bedfellows.
