Sunrise - November 14

I'll be putting out sunrise pictures on weekdays for awhile.  It will be a break from pictures of snow, snow on trees, prints in snow, snowing, etc.   I've talked about the analemma before.  It's the lazy eight figure you would see if you superimposed a year's worth of  pictures of the sun taken from the same location at the same time.  The sun is higher in the sky in the summer, lower in the winter and the center of the 'eight' are where the sun appears at the equinoxes.    Now if instead you take a picture of the sun from the same location but at a different time each day, say at sunrise, you'll flatten the analemma and the point of sunrise will appear to move along the horizon.  Take a close look at the horizon on this picture and you see the town water tower.  Watch where the sun rises in relation to the water tower each picture.  Today's picture was taken in November.  The sun will still be heading south until the winter solstice.

8 days to go.
