Before sunrise

Watched these deer trekking back to the woods early this morning.  Deer start bunching up around now.  It's easier to get around through the snow when the lead breaks trail and all of the others follow.  However, in this instance I think this is a doe followed by her twins born last year.  They no longer depend on mother's milk but have followed mom everywhere for all of their lives and are content to let her decide where/when they go.  Come spring she will put her ears back and chase them off.  It's been a mild winter so far - only have around four inches of snow.  Think the deer appreciate the milder climate too.  I found two hoof tracks above a single hoof mark and a drag of hoof print below that - made a recognizable happy face in the snow.
