Old Time Radio is airing a production of Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. As I listened to Alice drink something to become smaller and then eat something to become bigger, I remembered some articles I'd read once suggesting Carroll was talking about taking recreational drugs. (Must have read that in the 70's.) As I listened to the story unfold though it was obvious Carroll was just making up a story to entertain the three little girls in his charge one summer afternoon. Kinda reminded me of the fractured fairy tales I'd tell my own nieces. Well ... Carroll's story is maybe a little bit better than mine were. 😉
