Got a letter from the Government Census Bureau to take a community survey. The 'request' was accompanied w/ the threat that I was required by law to complete the survey. So I got online to the .gov site and started. It asked for my birth date and while I entered the correct year I didn't enter the right month or day. Bypassed some other info it asked for that I didn't see as any of the government's business. Finished up and submitted it. I'm sure the nonsensical e-mail I received almost immediately afterward was just a coincidence.
