Wild Asparagus in Fall

A sunny day to do some autumn tasks.  All of the outside plants have been moved to their wintering spots - either in the house or in the compost.  For some reason the lavender plant that is tucked into the niche by the front door hasn't yet frozen.   I'll leave it there for a little while longer.   Cleaned out planters and picked up the tomato cages from the garden.    I planned this house so every window could be washed w/o using a ladder.  I patted myself on the back while I did that chore.  Indy and I took a walk to pick up all of the PVC birdhouses and opened the door on the wooden ones.  The outside furniture is made from recycled plastic and can handle staying outside all winter.  I pushed the pieces together though to make it harder for the winter winds to blow them off the deck.  Repositioned the hooks and bird feeders so they can be seen out of the southeast windows.  It's easier to keep them full there too.  The hummingbird feeders are cleaned/dismantled/stored.  Whenever I was inside today, I went hunting for Asian beetles which had either piggy backed in w/ Indy and I or have found their own way into the house.  A few flies made it inside too but no need to bother w/ them.  Turns out the cats like to hunt and eat them.
