Lily by the deck

Saw some juvenile meadowlarks by the clothesline this morning.  It's a bird on the decline so I was happy to see this next generation.  Next to the clothesline is also a group of tansy in bloom.  Tansy is an invasive plant so I felt no qualms about cutting it's flowers for a bouquet for the library.  I'd taken in some daylilies this morning when it opened but by tomorrow they would be shriveled up so took the fresh flowers in tonight to swap out.  The librarian had been gone for two weeks on vacation but was back today.  She unfortunately came back to the news that the Saturday volunteer had quit.  W/ little chance of finding a replacement so quickly, the librarian had decided to take tomorrow's shift herself.  Seemed a shame when she was just one day back from being out of town plus she lives in a town some miles away.  I offered to take tomorrow's duty.
