Tonight I brought in a bouquet of elderberry flowers for the library. Since they are about the only bush w/ white flowers blooming this time of year, they stand out along the edge of the woods and it's easy to find them. The recent British royal wedding cake included elderflower as an essential ingredient. It would be more accurate to say that what the recipe called for was a syrup created from sugar water, lemon slices, and these elderberry flowers. Sounds like a good afternoon project for me to try.
