Sunrise

I filled in this afternoon at the library.  Met a new volunteer Kelli.  Kelli is going to be at the library a lot - she is taking 4 hour stints on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.  On Wednesday I met another new volunteer Cynthia.  She is working Wednesday afternoons.  Two former volunteers have returned - Galena and Mary Jane.  Combined with the existing volunteers we have someone scheduled in October for every hour that we are open so the new librarian can focus on getting used to the system and deciding on any changes she wants to make.  This afternoon she was busy in her office when I saw people gathering outside the building.  Many of the people were kids from the school (even though it wasn't yet 3 p.m.).  Didn't take much to figure out that tonight must be homecoming and the parade would be going past the library.  Yes, heard the band's drums beating a cadence long before I saw them.  The librarian walked out to join the crowd - part of the schmoozing required by her job.
