The Friends of the Library and the Library Board decided that the new librarian should be given some time to get settled in so they have been trying to make sure there is volunteer coverage for every day. One of the volunteers has worked Monday, Tuesday, today, and is due back on Friday. So I said I'd fill in for her on Friday afternoon. "Good, sooner or later we are going to have a frost and there are a lot of plants I have to get ready." she said. Got me to thinking that we usually have a first frost by this time. At least I thought we did. This blog is my diary and I make a big deal about first frost so I looked back to see when they were. According to the blog,
in 2009 it was August 31,
2010 September 25,
2011 September 14,
2012 September 16,
2013 September 15,
2014 September 12,
2015 September 29,
and last year October 9th.
So I guess it isn't too unusual to wait until October for First Frost. I and the trees are ready for it though.
